Tess Castleman, M.A., L.P.C.S., I.A.A.P., finished her training at the C.G. Jung Institute of Zurich in 1989. Preceding her move to Switzerland she was in private practice as a psychotherapist in Denver, Colorado, an associate professor of psychology at Colorado Mountain College and a public schoolteacher. As a Jungian analyst she became president of the Jung Institute of Dallas, president of the Jung Society of North Texas, a clinical supervisor for licensed professional counselors and a member of the Curatorium of the C. G. Jung Institute of Zurich. She is licensed to practice in the state of Texas. She is an author of two published books and several articles.
She has a profound interest in the creative process as it applies to the analytical journey, both as an exploration of the psyche’s potential and a vehicle to heal broken souls.
One of her main areas of work has been with dream groups. First beginning in 1987, she has led continuous groups in this milieu. This work has inspired a deep interest in synchronicity and the interconnectedness of humans to one another. She works with the tribal unconscious as it manifests in dream circles and retreats as well as “tribal dreams”—those dreams that are meant to be heard by more people than the dreamer him/herself.
Additionally, she uses therapeutic writing techniques to engage people in a creative journey that often surprises and delights those who “play along” with her writing processes. This material will be compiled in a publication in the future.
